Our story
Prelude began with a simple mission: make clinical trial technology easier to use and more adaptable to real-world research. Today, we support studies of all sizes with a platform trusted by sponsors, CROs, and academic teams globally.
2003
Prelude is founded
A team of former Lockheed Martin engineers built Prelude and brought one of the first eSource and EDC solutions to the market.
2006
EDC platform expands
We added randomization, inventory management, invoicing, document storage, and more to support complex trial design.
2017
Drag-and-drop UI developed
To empower self-service builds, we developed an intuitive build interface including drag-and-drop forms and no-code advanced calculations.
2021
Prelude is acquired
An investment group saw Prelude’s strong foundations and invested in our future potential, helping scale our solutions.
2024
Shift to growth
After two decades of word-of-mouth referrals, we realized the wider market need for a better solution for complex research.
