Thank You!

We'll email you the replay as soon as it's ready.

The largest animal health companies can no longer count on their own labs for the next great innovation. Meanwhile, hundreds of startups are building promising science with no global sales force, manufacturing scale, or regulatory team behind them. Each side has what the other lacks, but the path from first meeting to signed partnership is full of avoidable mistakes on both sides.

Dr. Fabian Kausche has seen it from both sides of the table. Dr. Kausche has spent decades leading research and development at some of the largest companies in animal health. At Boehringer Ingelheim, he led the integration of a 1,200-scientist R&D organization after the company's merger. He now works on the other side of the table. He is chairman of ASTRA Therapeutics, an advisor to startups and investors through FK Consulting, and a former chairman of a startup he guided through acquisition.

In this candid conversation with Prelude CEO, Tommy Jackson, Dr. Kausche will explain what each side brings, where each tends to go wrong, and how to build a partnership that lasts.

In this session, we'll cover:

  • Why great science doesn't always become a product. Learn what a big company needs to see before it takes an emerging technology seriously.
  • Each side's blind spots. Hear what startups tend to underestimate, and where big companies get in their own way.
  • How big companies evaluate startups. Find out who's in the room, what they weigh, and what makes a startup stand out.
  • Why early data can make or break a deal. See what your studies need to look like to hold up when a potential partner examines them closely.
